Joyce Gailey

Joyce R. Gailey, 80, of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Joyce Ruth Koppen was born March 26, 1944, in Fort Dodge to Myron and Ruth (King) Koppen. She attended schools in Fort Dodge. She was married to Robert Anderson and together they had two daughters, Cheryl and Susan. The couple later divorced. In 1987, Joyce was united in marriage to John Gailey. Joyce was employed with Globe Union but her best job was being a caretaker. She was a creative artist that loved crafting and sewing. Joyce enjoyed flower gardens and the beauty of nature. She will be greatly missed.

Meeting her in heaven are her parents, husband John in 2017 and brother Ronald Koppen.

Joyce is survived by her daughters Cheryl (Dana) Smith of Omaha and Susan Messerly of Fort Dodge, grandchildren Austin Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Tyler Messerly, Jeremiah Messerly, great-grandchildren Carter Hoover, Ava Messerly, brother Paul (Becky) Koppen, sisters-in-law Trudy Koppen, Pat Grove, Mary Williams, Margaret Potts, brother-in-law James Gailey, step-children Mary Beth (Horst) Spielberg, John Jr. (Julie) Gailey, Patricia (Kris) Jarnagin, Denis Gailey, Tim (Susan) Gailey, Renae Gailey and many step grandchildren.

Memorials will be at the discretion of the family.
