Judith A. Winkler 79, of Fort Dodge passed away on Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 four days before her (20th) 80th birthday at the Marian Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy, officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Corpus Christi Church. Burial with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard will at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter at 2:00 PM on Tuesday. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Survivors include children; Judi Drow of Fort Dodge, Robert Winkler of Fort Dodge, Lawrence Winkler of Cedar Falls, Daniel Winkler of Fort Dodge, Stacy Winkler of Fort Dodge and Tracy (Natalie) Winkler of Duncombe, 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, sisters Lori (Todd) Deacon, Eileen (Clyde) Starks, and Donna (Pierre) Martin, brother-in-law Tom Frugia, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marcella (Hebert) Drow, husband Ara in 2016 and her sister Jeanette Frugia. Judith Ann Drow was born on February 29, 1940 in Detroit, MI. She attended schools there and graduated from Western High School in 1958. Judith then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving from 1961 to 1963 in W.A.C. The U.S Army was also where she met her husband Ara Winkler and they were united in marriage on January 5, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan. The couple traveled across the country while Ara continued serving in the Army while Judith worked as a C.N.A. retiring in 2004. Judith was also the homemaker for her family. After Ara retired from the U.S. Army the family returned to Roswell, New Mexico in 1976. In 2006 they moved to Fort Dodge where they have lived since. Judith adored her dogs, enjoyed garage sales, bingo, and playing card games. She was an excellent cook. Judith was a game show junkie that never missed an airing of the Price Is Right or Wheel of Fortune. She was known for her quick wit and unfiltered sense of humor. But above all, she loved time spent with her family. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
