Gowrie Judy Ann Warrick, 75, of Gowrie, Iowa, passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services will be held on 11:00 AM Monday May 23rd at the United Methodist Church Gowrie with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday May 22nd from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the church in Gowrie. Burial will be held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home Gowrie is in charge of arrangements. Judy was born on April 21, 1947, in Des Moines, the daughter of Kenneth and Lois (Bass) Prine. Judy was raised in the town of Avon Lake and graduated from Carlisle High School where she enjoyed playing basketball, golf, and was the drum majorette for the marching band. In 1965, Judy met Ron Warrick and they were united in marriage on July 8, 1966. They resided in White Sands, New Mexico, and then moved to Gowrie, Iowa, first living in town and eventually moving to their farm. Four children; Tim, Sara, Amy, and Ben blessed this union. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The love she had for her family was seen in her selfless acts of caring for them. She was often found in the crowd supporting her children and grandchildren at their many activities. There was never a doubt about how much she loved her husband, children and grandchildren. Judy was also a role model in her faith. She was active in her church, the Gowrie United Methodist Church. Judy and Ron were leaders of the church youth group early in their marriage. She also played in the bell choir, participated as a greeter on Sundays, and served on various church committees. Judy attended Iowa State University and later graduated with her Bachelors degree in Social Work from Buena Vista College. After graduation she worked in the Fort Dodge area as a social worker. Her love for helping people led her to pursue her Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Iowa. Upon completion of her degree, she worked as a therapist at Lee & Associates in Fort Dodge. Judy was passionate about her work and serving others. This passion led Judys drive for extensive mental health advocacy work. She was a board member for the Iowa Empowerment Conference Corporation, served on the mental health division of Disability Rights Iowa, and taught Peer Support at the Friendship Center in Fort Dodge. Judy also traveled to New York City shortly after 9/11 and served as a volunteer crisis counselor for families impacted by this tragedy. Judys love and wonderful spirit will be greatly missed by her family. Survivors include her husband, Ron; four children, Tim Warrick of Johnston, Sara (Scott) Swansen of Johnston, Amy (Jamie) DeMoney of Waukee, and Ben (Tina) Warrick of Waukee; 10 grandchildren, Shayla Warrick, Ryan Warrick, Faith Warrick, Jacob Swansen, Gabe Swansen, Kinzley DeMoney, Kacen DeMoney, Noah Warrick, Liam Warrick and Owen Warrick; her brother Don Prine; two brothers-in-law Bob (Noralee) Warrick and John (Shelly) Warrick and many nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Gerry Prine.
