June Marie Lawler, 92, Fort Dodge, Iowa passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Bickford Cottage in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. June is survived by her ten children: Kevin Lawler of Coral Springs, FL; Keith (Cathy) Lawler of Fort Dodge; Kurtis (Kely) Lawler of Grimes, IA; Kelly (Merrilee) Lawler of Apple Valley, MN; Kris (Julie Nell) Lawler of Rocky Mount, NC; Gina (Jody) Sitzmann of Sioux City, IA; Lisa (Randy) Jones of Altoona, IA; Kerry (Kim) Lawler of MacClesfield, NC; Shela-Lyn (Brad) Boxberger of Scottsdale, AZ; Julie Lawler of Ankeny, IA; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses: Sister Corita Heid, Lori Wignall, Marge (Dave) Ipsan, Nancy (Bob) Garretson and Sharon Heid. June was preceded in death by her parents Orie and Florence Heid, her husband Emmett Lawler, an infant daughter Mary, an infant grandson Matthew Jones, siblings and their spouses: Jenny (Don) Davis, Joan (Bob) Davis, Lavonne (Chuck Halligan) and (Matt) Ward, Jack Heid, Kenny Heid, Dennis McCarville and Richard Wignall. June Marie Virginia Lawler, daughter of Orie and Florence (McClain) Heid was born on March 14, 1930 in rural Pocahontas County, IA. She attended country schools in Pocahontas County until she graduated eighth grade. The family then moved to Barnum, Iowa where she graduated from Barnum High School in 1947. On January 5, 1952, June was united in marriage to Emmett Lawler in Barnum. They made their home in Clare, Iowa. Later in life, June attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, receiving her LPN degree. She worked for twenty-three years at the Humboldt hospital in Humboldt, Iowa. For twenty years, June and Emmett spent their winters in Florida, Texas and Arizona until Emmett's death on June 22, 2006. June moved to Bickford Cottage in August of 2021. June was baptized a Catholic and a member of St. Matthew Parish in Clare, St. Thomas Parish in Manson and Holy Trinity Parish in Fort Dodge. Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous (Monticello, Iowa) or a charity of your choice.
