Katherine Marie Cartee

Katherine Cartee, 59, of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Paul J. Baber Hospice Home. Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday December 14, 2013 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Deacon Dan Carney officiating. A visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Katherine is survived by sons, Sean (Rebecca) Cartee of Lancing, TN and Tim (Katie) Cartee of Fort Dodge; father, Thomas Slagle of Fort Dodge; brother, Jim Slagle of Nebraska; sister, Kim Clark of Churdan; and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine (Dahlquist) Slagle; and a brother, Rick Slagle. Katherine was born on October 28, 1954 in Oakland, California. At a young age, she moved to Fort Dodge where she attended the Fort Dodge schools. She established her home in Fort Dodge and was united in marriage in 1971 to Rod Cartee. They later divorced. Katherine worked for the D.A.R.T., Fort Dodge School System, PS Academy, and Fareway. She had a passion for music, loved kids, enjoyed travelling, cooking, and baking. She especially loved visiting family and friends. Memorials may be left in discretion to the family.
