Kathy Hathaway Jenkins

Kathy R. Hathaway Jenkins, 65, of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Kathy was born October 9, 1953 to Harold and Marie Moore in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended Hawthorne Grade School in Sioux City. The family then moved to Fort Dodge, where she graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1971. She furthered her education with a degree in journalism and broadcasting at South Dakota State University, Vermillion. She married Bruce Hathaway and the couple had one son, Tyler. Kathy liked working in her flower garden and feeding the birds. She enjoyed spending time on her computer and was an avid member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 590. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Jeff Jenkins; son, Tyler; and granddaughter, Brylie who was so dear to Kathy. She is also survived by her sisters, Connie Jensen of Wisconsin; Karen Beasley of Illinois and a brother, Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Marie Moore. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
