Kathy M. Ford

Kathy Marie Ford, 67, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at her sister's farm in Dayton, IA. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers funeral home in Fort Dodge. Burial will be held at the Otho Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 prior to the service in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Survivors include her sons, Justin (Erin) Ford and their daughters, Adalyn and Lillian Ford of Fort Dodge, IA; Jesse (Stacey) Ford of Huntington Beach, CA; her sisters, Patty (Danny) Grossnickle of Dayton, IA; Barb (Chester) Dahlhauser of Solon, IA; Diane (Narlan) Andrews of Kalo, IA; Sonya (Richard) Hindman of Dayton, IA; Roberta (Matt) Faiferlick of Des Moines, IA; brother, Joe (Peggy) Sestak of Otho, IA; She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Elsie (Thorson) Sestak. Kathryn Marie Sestak was born on June 7th, 1949 in Fort Dodge, IA. Attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. In 1969, she was united in marriage to Glen Ford and the couple made their home near Coalville. They were later divorced. Following her education she worked for Brittenham Bakery and then Hawkeye Glove Manufacturing for 9 years. Kathy was then employed at Globe Union for another 9 years. She also worked for Electrolux and Walgreens before retiring in 2015 from Iowa Central Community College. Kathy enjoyed her dogs, riding horses, working outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family and attending their sporting events. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
