Kathy Kay Taylor, 65, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 28th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home on Sunday. Survivors include her children Valerie (Matt) Kittleson of Clare, James (Dillan Gailey) Hamilton of Fort Dodge, Courtney (Matt Groat) Underwood of Webster City, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister Linda Weideman of Des Moines, brother Jeff Weideman of Spanaway, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents Harris and Dorothy Weideman, brothers Wayne, Clifford and Charlie Weideman, and her nephew Tyler Koster. Kathy Kay Weideman was born on January 2, 1956 in Council Bluffs. She was raised and educated in Des Moines. In 1972, she was united in marriage to Jim Hamilton and to this union there were two children born James and Valerie. The couple later divorced. Kathy moved to Manson where she met Joe Girard and they had a daughter Courtney. She worked at JJ's in Manson for several years. Kathy truly had a green thumb who enjoyed working in her garden, watching birds, and would always be cleaning something. Her greatest love was time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathy was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Seattle Seahawks fan. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
