Gowrie Kay F. Learned 79, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation & Nursing at Gowrie. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at the United Methodist Church, Gowrie, with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating. Burial will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Kay is survived by her husband Richard Learned of Gowrie; daughters, Crystal (Mike Krayenhagen) Wilks of Gowrie, Cathy (Rick) Miller of Gowrie, Caryl (Dean) Cleveland of Badger, and Carrie (Bergan) Dalley of Gowrie; son Charlie Learned of Fort Dodge; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister Judy Allgood of Gowrie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Nina (Cooklin) Otto; sister Peggy Otto; and brother Richard Otto. Kay was fondly known as "BBG". Kay F. Otto was born August 24, 1940 at Fort Dodge and graduated from Gowrie High School, with the Class of 1958. On November 24, 1958 she was united in marriage to Richard Learned at the United Methodist Church, Gowrie. The couple established their home in Gowrie. Kay worked at the Gowrie Care Center and Caseys. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
