Kenneth C. Hart, 95, of Kawkawlin MI, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away April 8, 2023 at Huron Woods Nursing Center in Kawkawlin MI. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 17, 2023 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery with military rites provided by the US Navy Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1856. A visitation will be 9:30 AM until the start of the service. Ken is survived by his sons Michael Hart, Steve (Wanda) Hart; daughter Vickie (Vern) Schwartz; step-daughters Carol (Michael) Salgat, Lynette (Keith) Rash; step-son Jim (Candy) Rabich; several grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and brothers Homer and Bobby Smothers. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Florance (Frazer) Hart, 1st wife Ruth (Rosendahl) Hart, 2nd wife Therese (Henderson) Hart, brothers Leo, Gerald, Donald, Eugene and Edmond Hart, sister Mary Anholt, daughter Connie Hahn, step-son Paul Rabich, granddaughter Lisa Lowrey, and grandson Douglas Jensen, Jr. Kenneth Charles Hart was born on May 21, 1927 in Havelock, IA to Leo and Florence (Frazer) Hart. Ken was one of 7 children. He moved to Rolfe when he was a year old, after that the family moved quite a bit from Rockwell to Carlersville, Nora Springs, Rockford, and finally Fort Dodge. At the age of 18 he joined the Navy and served during WWII from 1945 to 1946. After his discharge Ken was united in marriage to Ruth Rosendahl on August 18,1948 at Corpus Christi Church and they established their home in Fort Dodge with four children. Ruth Passed away March 2, 1996. In 1989 Ken retired from B&F Sales. He married Therese Henderson on April 25, 1998 at Corpus Christi Church. Therese passed 2022. The couple spent time at their homes in Fort Dodge and Michigan throughout the year and the winters in Arizona. Kenneth was a member of Holy Trinity and enjoys golfing, fishing, camping, square dancing and taking his family on vacations. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
