Harcourt Kenneth L. Widen 64, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the United Methodist Church, Dayton, with Pastor Kay Christie officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the Church until service time. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is in charge of arrangements. Kenneth is survived by his brother Carroll (Twila) Widen of Harcourt; nephews, Jeffrey (Martha) Widen of Nevada, and Michael DeVan of Ames; great nephews, Noah Widen, and Jared, Brady, and Isaiah DeVan; great-great-niece Emerson DeVan; and great-great-nephew Carter DeVan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Grace (Nelson) Widen; and niece Tamara DeVan. Kenneth L. Widen was born November 23, 1954 at Fort Dodge and graduated from Central Webster High School, with the Class of 1973. Kenneth worked at the Fort Dodge Messenger. He graduated from Broadcasting Program at Iowa Central Community College. Kenneth was employed at KTLB Radio Twin Lakes and also KVFD Fort Dodge for several years. He then worked for Engquist Lumber Company in Harcourt for many years. In 2016, he became a resident of Pearl Valley Rehabilitation & Nursing at Gowrie. Kenneth served on the Harcourt City Council, Southwest Webster Ambulance Board, and loved NASCAR Racing. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
