Kent Pommer

Kent G. Pommer, 64, of Callender passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Saturday, December 21, 2024 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home, Fort Dodge. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh. A Celebration of his life will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.

Kent is survived by his wife, Susan Pommer of Callender; children, Cody (Stephanie) Pommer, Amara Pommer, Zach (Bailey) Harris, Jake (Tani) Harris, Kayla Harris (Luke); and 12 grandchildren; mother, Donna Pommer; and sister, Melanie Fortney.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Pommer; siblings, Marcell Rasch and Kendra Crapser; in-laws, Duane and Kathey Nelson.

Kent Gerard Pommer was born September 3, 1960 in Fort Dodge. He attended school and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1979. On September 22, 2022 he was united in marriage to Susan Harris and the couple made Callender their home. Kent was employed at Silgan Containers for over 37 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; always heading somewhere to hunt and fish with his kids or friends. He enjoyed fishing at The Pond and had yearly fishing trips with his son and grandson to South Dakota. He loved hanging out at bonfires and having cookouts with his family and friends. The times spent with his family were cherished. He was a member of Fort Dodge Water Sports. Kent was a people person with a huge heart that cared for everyone. He would help anyone who needed it. He lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
