Kim (Murphy) Haukoos, 67, of Fort Dodge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 22nd at 11:00 AM at Corpus Christi Cemetery with Deacon Ed Albright, officiating.
Survivors include her son Ryan Murphy of Fort Dodge, Mike Murphy and his wife Sara of Fort Dodge, daughter Lindsey Murphy of West Yellowstone, MT, grandchildren John, Adam, and Kenzie, sister Shelly Rodriguez and her husband Manuel of Clare, sister-in-law Sherry Lowrey, stepchildren Jennifer Kirchhoff of Humboldt, and Jason Haukoos and his wife Brianne of Humboldt, and step grandchildren Maddilyn, Kaylee, Cade, and Tanner.
She was preceded by her parents Ronald and Beverly (Brown) Lowrey, husband John Murphy in 1995, brothers Kevin and Ronald Lowrey, brother-in-law Jim Murphy, her in-laws Willliam and Peggy Murphy, and her daughter-in-law’s mother Sharon McRae, step son-in-law Troy Kirchhoff.
Kim Ellen Lowrey was born on August 31, 1956, in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated here. On December 19, 1977, she was united in marriage to John Murphy (U.S. Navy Veteran) and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. To this union were 3 children born. John passed away in 1995. Kim furthered her education at Iowa Central Community College where she received her R.N. Degree in 2009. Kim worked at various care centers around the area. She did a lot of family ancestry research. Kim found many a burial location for family on find a grave and other internet searches. She enjoyed fishing but mostly loved the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Kim was a fearless, fierce, and loving person who always put others’ needs in front of her own. She could sing like an Angel. On April 12, 2002, she was united in marriage to Monte Haukoos. The couple were later divorced but remained close friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
