Kurt Dencklau, 53, of Fort Dodge, died on Wednesday June 10, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. A Celebration of Life Monday, June 15th at 1:00 PM Laufersweiler Funeral Home with Pastor Kendall Meyer officiating. Visitation will also be on Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife Michelle of Fort Dodge, daughter Maggie Dencklau of Fort Dodge, daughter Emily (Ryan) Halley of Ohio, son Nathan Crapser of Otho, mother Shirley Dencklau of Fort Dodge, brother Phillip (Anjee) Dencklau and their children Dakota and Nicole of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by father Larry Dencklau. Kurtis Lee Dencklau was born on July 28, 1966 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1984. He was a long time employee of Community Tap and Pizza working there 28 years until retiring due to ill health. On June 21, 2012 he was united in marriage to Michelle Fiebiger and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Kurt enjoyed bowling where he won many trophies including the 2003 Iowa State Champion in Doubles Bowling and was inducted to the Fort Dodge Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Kurt was an avid Dallas Cowboys, LA Dodgers, Iowa Hawkeye, and Nascar fan. He loved his family and spending time with his dog Dink. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
