Kyle A. Harklau, 62, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Paul J. Baber Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday (Please Note the Date) February 1, 2025 in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fulton Lutheran Cemetery, Roelyn. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Survivors include his daughters Keri Timmins and her husband Jeff of Des Moines, Kristi Pierce and her husband Chris of Des Moines, grandchildren Caden Timmins, Alicia Pierce and Gabriel Pierce, brothers Eric Harklau of Fort Dodge, Scott Harklau of Fort Dodge, sisters Tracy Runkel of Fort Dodge, Laura Wolfe and her husband Woody of Spirit Lake, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Christine "Micky" (Cowell) Harklau, brother-in-law Nathan Runkel.
Kyle Allen Harklau was born on August 12, 1962 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1981. On March 3, 1984 he was united in marriage to Deb Agnes and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. The couple were later divorced. The couple remained very close friends until the end. Kyle was currently employed with Georgia Pacific where he worked the last 38 years where he held various positions. Kyle enjoyed being outdoors, grilling, and vacationing at Okoboji. He was an avid Football Card collector. Kyle was also a Miami Dolphins and Iowa State Football fan. Kyle loved the time spent with his family and grandchildren with many trips to Des Moines over the last few years to see the grandkids more. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
