Ladonna J. Ledden

LaDonna J. Ledden, 85, of St. Joseph, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017. LaDonna was born on October 13, 1931 in Battle Creek, Iowa to the late Arthur and Edna (Lill) Putzier. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1949 and Buena Vista University (Storm Lake, Iowa) in 1951 with a teaching degree. LaDonna was member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She married Richard Ledden on February 28, 1954 in Battle Creek, Iowa. Together, they celebrated 43 years of marriage, before he passed away August 13, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, LaDonna is preceded in death by an infant son and sister Norma Castor. Surviving family includes children James Ledden (Michelle), Beatrice, Nebraska, David Ledden (Shelly), St. Joseph, Missouri, Lawrence P. Ledden, Overland Park, Kansas, John Ledden (Stephanie), Clark, New Jersey, Patricia Findley (Dennis), Osborn, Missouri, Michael Ledden (Kim), Mitchell, Indiana; two brothers Kenneth & Roger Putzier; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Saturday, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Rev. Patrick Behm, officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Gathering of Remembrance 6:00 PM Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph Missouri followed by the Parish Rosary at 6:30 PM in our chapel. The family will receive friends in St. Joseph following the rosary until 8:30 PM Thursday evening. The family has requested memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
