Larry M. Taylor, 78, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25th in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Chaplain Phil Somsen, officiating. Burial will be at Vegors Cemetery near Stratford. A visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delores; children, Wade (Eileen) Taylor of Fort Dodge; Kolette (Robert "Bob") Nelson of Lehigh; Mark (Celia) Taylor of Fort Dodge; Scott Taylor of Lehigh; Rod (Toni) Taylor of Slater; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred Taylor of Fort Dodge; Dorothy Jensen of Fort Dodge; and Beverly Porter of Medulo, CA. He was preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Jessie (Baille) Taylor; brothers, Eugene and Richard Taylor; sisters, Maxine Helvik; Veronica Vinchattle; and grandson, Adam Taylor. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Larry Milton Taylor was born March 17, 1937 in Fort Dodge and attended schools here. He worked at Lehigh Sewer Pipe and Tile in maintenance. Larry also was a welder for Coats Manufacturing and eventually worked for Iowa Beef. He was united in marriage to Delores Luba on September 23, 1955, and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Larry loved to travel, was a proud and accomplished welder and enjoyed working on cars. He always wanted to feed everybody and was very proud of the fact that his children never went hungry. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
