Laurence Henderson

Laurence "Larry" Henderson, 68, of Fort Dodge passed away April 18, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. A celebration of life visitation will be from 12:30 until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Military Rites will follow presented by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 1856. Laurence is survived by his loving partner, Linda Gibbs; children, Cheryl Henderson of Glen Rock, PA; Missy Mueller, Kevin (Danna) Henderson, Colby Henderson all of Fort Dodge; Ronald (Angie) Gibbs of Gowrie; Heather Schnell of Webster City; many grandchildren; siblings, Timothy (Becky) Henderson, Rodney Henderson, Teresa (Keith) Kutz, Windy Roberts, and an uncle, Dean (Sharon) Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis "Junior" and Beverly (Desmidt) Henderson; son, Danny Nielson; grandchildren, Tegan Henderson and Jacob Gibbs. Larry was born February 12, 1953 in California. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1972. Working various jobs throughout his life in Fort Dodge, he enjoyed doing automobile repair and body work the most. Larry loved riding motorcycles, figure 8 racing, and camping. Most of all he loved time spent with family and friends and will be missed by all. Larry was a former member of the Eagles, a member of the American Legion Riders and the American Legion of Farnhamville. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
