Lee Carl New

Lee C. New Jr., 68, of Fort Dodge passed away from cancer April 8, 2017 at his home. A memorial service will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. A private burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge will be held at a later date. Lee Carl New Jr. was born April 1, 1949 to Lee Carl Sr. and Roselyn (Sampaio) New, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge schools and was a member of Holy Rosary Church. He was drafted into the U. S. Army. He traveled the western and north western parts of the United States. Lee returned to Fort Dodge and bartended for his mother at the Chesterfield Lounge. Lee met and married Jana Friesth in 1997. During this time he worked for Peterson Contractors out of Reinbeck, IA, Hy-Vee night stock, Rasch Construction, and Electrolux in Webster City before retiring in 2011. Lee was a Kansas City Chiefs fan, loved wood working, and was especially proud of the couples back yard in which he worked every day during nice weather. Lee is survived by his wife, Jana; his sons, Cheney New of Las Vegas; children, Savanah, Haley, and Brendan; Chad New of Las Vegas; children, Tatum and Anthony; Lee New III (Tom) of Detroit, MI; daughter, April and her daughter Valerie of Pennsylvania; stepsons, Chad Friesth, daughters, Caitlynn, Ashley, and Emily; Ryan Friesth (Niki), daughters, Adyson and Avery; and Bret Friesth, and his son Degan all of Fort Dodge; sisters, Mara Patterson (Larry); Tarfa Dierenfeld (Rod), Leilani Schlick (Bill); brother, Abraham New; step sister, Bernice Nead (Roger); several nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Rose New; and step brother Bernard Pahee.
