He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Edward and Edna Dawn (Bird) Bryan; brothers, Harvey, Theodore, Eugene, and William J Bryan; sisters, Gertrude Van Vactor, Edna Ruth Doolittle, Mary Jane Parrott; and granddaughter, Rachelle Vega. Lee Roy Bryan was born June 14, 1924 in Mexico, MO. In 1936, he moved to Iowa to work on his uncle's farms in the Fort Dodge and Callender area. In 1943, he enlisted in the United States Army and served with the 528 Field Artillery Battalion. He received 2 bronze medals for his part during the Battle of the Bulge and was honorably discharged in 1946. On September 16, 1945, he was united in marriage to Josephine Enzauro at Holy Rosary Church in Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Lee drove trucks before becoming employed at Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric from 1949 to 1955. He then became a union electrician and retired due to disability in 1968. Although Lee was an electrician, his real passion was building. If you hired him to build you a house, he himself built it. There are many homes in Fort Dodge that stand as his memorial for years to come. The last house he built, he started at the age of 86. It took a while to build and sometimes he needed help, but he finished it. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved to play cards with his friends. His teasing and wonderful sense of humor was known by all. Lee was a member of Holy Rosary Church, the Knights of Columbus, Holy Rosary Men's Club, and the Local 347 of Electrical Workers. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
