Leeann Gillespie

August 2, 1961 — October 7, 2017

LeeAnn K. Gillespie, 56, of Gowrie passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 11th at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM all at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. LeeAnn is survived by her husband, Gary of Gowrie; children, Jill Armstrong of Fort Dodge; Josh Armstrong of Fort Dodge; Alexis Gillespie of Rockwell City; and Gina Gillespie of Gowrie; her friend, Dan Rurup of Gowrie; grandchildren, Michael Pearson, Avery Armstrong, Aidan Armstrong; step-daughter, Jenny (Matt) Chafos and her children, Brady, Micah, Maddy of Nevis, MN; and step-son; Kelly Gillespie and his daughter, Breah of Fort Dodge; her parents, Bev and Phil Beam of Fort Dodge; sister, Mary (Beam) Donahe-Richman of Fort Dodge; brothers, Jim Beam of Fort Dodge; Vince (Laurie) Beam of West Plains, MO; several nieces and nephews; and her dog "Dezee" whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her nephew, James Donahe in 2015; and her half brother, James Keane. LeeAnn Kae Beam was born on August 2, 1961, in Fort Dodge. She attended schools here and graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1979. Following her education LeeAnn worked as a C.N.A. at various nursing homes always following her passion to help people. She furthered her education in 1988, receiving her L.P.N. from Iowa Central Community College. In 1991, she was united in marriage to Gary Gillespie and the couple made their home in Gowrie. LeeAnn was currently employed as a nurse with the Gowrie Care Center where she began working in 1982, as an aid. She was truly devoted to her job and loved to help people. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
