Gowrie- Jean Warren, 92 passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 10, 2021 at United Methodist Church, Gowrie with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation and viewing will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Friday, July 9, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. She is survived by daughter, Tamara and Stephen Wieberg of Fort Dodge; son, Bruce and Becky Warren of Holstein; son, Jeff and Julie Warren of Mt. Morris, IL; daughter, Carla Jean Berger and Bob Kayser of Fort Dodge; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Mathias of Harvey, IA; and sister, Janis Balabon of Cape Coral, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Beatrice (Jergenson) Mathias; husband, Jack Warren and brother, Donald Mathias. Jean Mathias was born April 3, 1929 in Clarion, IA. She was raised and educated in Clarion; graduating from Clarion High School in 1947. On May 16, 1948, Jean was united in marriage to Jack Warren. The couple established their home and farmed in the Callender/Gowrie/Somers area. The couple moved to Fort Dodge and lived there for 20 years. Jean was employed at Sears and retired in 1989. The couple then moved to Gowrie in the fall of 1989. They enjoyed many winters in Arizona. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, past member and Queen of the Red Hat Ladies, and loved to play bridge and quilt. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
