Leona King

Leona King, 89, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2018 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. A visitation will begin on Friday at 9:00 a.m. until the service at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Leona is survived by her children, Cathy (Eldon) Haines of Loveland, CO; Carolyn King of Knierim; Rocky (Jo) King of Rockwell City; grandchildren, Shari; Travis; Amber; Adam; Zachary; Todd; Carla; Chad; Crystal; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary; Shirley, Donna, Sharon; brother, Donald; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Raymond, 2nd husband Robert; daughter, Paula Oldson; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Leona Mae was born June 14, 1929 in Sheridan, Missouri to Jesse and Mable Holmes. Following her education Leona was united in marriage to Raymond Wagner on October 20, 1949. He passed away on December 17, 1959. On April 14, 1961, she was united in marriage to Robert King and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. He passed away on November 26, 1999. Leona worked as a nurse's aide for 22 years. She enjoyed needle work, puzzles, reading and baking cookies. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home for their excellent care of Leona. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
