Leona Susan Fleming

Leona S. Fleming, 93, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Simpson Healthcare Center, Friendship Haven. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 27th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She is survived by her children, Joe Fleming of Fort Dodge; Jim Fleming of Fort Dodge; Tom Fleming of Myrtle Beach, SC; Bill Fleming of Columbus, NE; Kerry (Bill) Weber of Enid, OK; Jayne (Mark) Grillo of Rochester, NY; Ann (Mike) Moody Huntville, AL; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Anna (Zeimet) Wagner; son, Jon Fleming; and infant brother, Jerome; siblings, Mary Neuroth; Bernadette Godden; and Allen Wagner. Leona Susan Wagner was born October 26, 1921 in Mallard, IA. She moved to Algona with her family and attended St. Cecila Catholic School, graduating in 1940. Leona relocated to Fort Dodge in 1961 and has lived here since then. She worked at several places including Safeway, Daniel Pharmacy and First Congregational Church. In September of 2010 Leona moved to Friendship Haven and enjoyed participating in all their activities. Leona was a member of Holy Rosary Church and Rosary Society.
