Leroy Clark

July 17, 1927 — February 21, 2022

LeRoy Clark, 94, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at his daughters home in LuVerne. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Rev Dan Kahl officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home and from noon until the time of service at the church. LeRoy is survived by his wife Rosamond "Rose" of Fort Dodge; children Leanne (Darrel) Orwig of Lu Verne, Richard (Vikki) Clark of Fort Dodge, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Clark of Fort Dodge; grandchildren Darrek (Marcy Leasum) Orwig of Durand, WI and their children Olive, Henry and Franklin, Heathyr (Allen) Schmidt of Frederick, CO and their son Jacob, Ryan Orwig of Billings, MT, Denis (Jenny Regan) Orwig of Algona and their twins, Liam and Isabel, Tiffany (Bryan) Pitt of Loveland, CO and their children Charlotte and Lincoln, Jill Marie Clark of Fort Dodge and her daughter Genevieve, Zachary (Sharon Hotz) Clark and their children Zoelle and Zariah, Nicholas Clark, Jackie (John) Pederson and their 4 children and 2 grandchildren, Jamie (Neale) Adams and their 3 children and Lindsey (Andy) Leuschen and their 3 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mabel (Johnson) Clark, son Scott Clark, brother Donald and sister Zelma. LeRoy Donavan Clark was born July 17, 1927 in Havelock. At the age of 7 he moved with his family to Cedar Falls and graduated from Cedar Falls High School. The summer after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during WWII in the Aleutian Islands. After his honorable discharge, LeRoy finished his education and graduated from AIB College in 1949. He was united in marriage to Rosamond Cowan at St. Olaf Lutheran Church on December 10, 1949. Also in 1949, LeRoy started working at the Fort Dodge Labs in Inventory Control. He retired in 1991 as the Purchasing Director after 44 years of employment. He loved the water and lived on the river all of his life. After his retirement, the couple would take Northwest bus tour trips across the country and loved to visit Branson, Missouri. They enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Prairie Promenaders. LeRoy loved cars and had quite the collection. He was a very selfless person and was always giving to others. He was a Master at the Masonic Lodge and active in helping with the Boy Scouts and Campfire Girls. He even built a racetrack for the Pinewood Derby race, that is still being used today. He also helped with Junior Achievement in Fort Dodge. LeRoy and Rosamond have been members of Grace Lutheran Church for 67 years and they celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on December 10, 2021. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
