Twin Lakes Lois C. Dawson 84, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Anita Bane officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Lois is survived by her children, Dennis (Wilma) Dawson of Des Moines, Dana (Maurie) Greenway of Rockwell City, David (Jill) Dawson of Rockwell City, and Don Dawson of Carlisle; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Jan Craft of Marshalltown; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Neil; parents, Louis and Atha (Faulkner) Craft; and brother George Craft. Lois Craft Dawson was born April 19, 1934 at Rockwell City, Iowa. She graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1952. Lois received her teaching certificate from Drake University, and taught kindergarten in Sioux City for two years. On June 10, 1956 she was united in marriage to Neil E. Dawson at the United Methodist Church in Rockwell City. In 1976, Lois received her bachelors degree from Morningside College and taught Elementary Art at Rockwell City for four years. Neil passed away in 2006. She later made her home at Friendship Haven. Lois was a member of United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, PEO, Chi Omega, Calhoun Co. Historical Society, Rockwell City Garden Club, Stewart Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary, Boy Scouts of America Committee Member, Music Booster Club, O.O.T., Reading Circle, and National Art Education Association.
