Rockwell City Lois C. Stout 81, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Omaha. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City followed by a Graveside Service at 12:00 p.m. Noon at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City, with Rev. Owen Englin officiating. Lois is survived by her daughter Kim (friend Leo Klotz) Borkowski of Sac City; son Corey (Toni) Stout of Rockwell City; grandchildren, Justin, Britnee, and Miley; granddog Mija; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Merle; parents, Charles and Minnie (Geerdes) Teyen; brother Charles Teyen; and son-in-law Kevin Borkowski. Lois Charlene Teyen Stout was born August 15, 1937 at Pomeroy, Iowa. She attended schools in Pomeroy. Following her education, Lois worked as a nurses aide in Minnesota for several years before returning to Iowa to care for her parents. On February 10, 1964 she was united in marriage to Merle D. Stout, and the couple made their home in Rockwell City. Lois was a homemaker and worked various jobs in the community. She also volunteered in the community for many years and received the Volunteer of the Year award from Gov. Terry Branstad. Merle passed away in 2014. Lois enjoyed her flowers, gardening, cooking, and baking pies and cookies.
