Lois M Udermann

June 15, 1929 — May 19, 2017

Lois M. Udermann, 87, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Bickford Cottages in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 23rd 2017, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Joey Feldmann officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. On May 10th, 2017, Lois was received into the Catholic Church. A visitation will be on Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, with a Rosary at 4:00 pm all at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Lois is survived by her children, Diane McClurg (Kent) of Plano, TX; Steven Udermann (Jacquie) of Cedar Rapids; Cindy Fellers of Fort Dodge; Chris Udermann (Susan) of Longboat Key, FL; grandchildren, Erin McClurg, Ryan McClurg (Grace), Kelly Chapman (Steve), Katie Walter (Ed), Matt Udermann (Krista), Adam Fellers (Nikki), Taylor Ruge (Grant), Alexa Jo; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Vierkant (Carol) of Mounds View, MN; and her sisters-in-law, Myrtle Vierkant and Ruth Vierkant. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erich and Grace (Eberhardt) Vierkant; husband, Francis "Butch"; infant son, Erich; and brothers, Ronald, Arthur, and Erwin Vierkant. Lois was born on June 15, 1929, at the family farm in Minden Township, MN. She was raised and educated in Sauk Rapids; graduating from Sauk Rapids High School in 1947. On August 2, 1951, she was united in marriage to Francis Udermann at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, MN. The couple lived in various locations while Francis worked for the Railroad. In 1965, the couple moved to Badger and then later established their home in Fort Dodge. Lois worked for the Fort Dodge School System in the food and nutrition program retiring in 1991. She was an active member of First United Congregational Church of Christ, Fort Dodge. Lois served on the Board of Adjustments and School Credit Union Board. She also volunteered at Trinity Regional Hospital and Friendship Haven and was an avid card player. Funeral Tue, May 23, 2017 at 11:00 am First Congregational Church
