Lorraine Ardis Yates

Lorraine (Raine) Yates, 76, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the First Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Scott Hatton officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Lorraine is survived by her daughter Lynn Yeschick and her husband, Steven of Fort Dodge; sons, Rick Ishmael of Kansas City, KS; Matthew Ishmael of Lewisville, TX; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; step-children, Deb Irving and David Yates both of Vero Beach, FL; and sisters, Darlene McCurdy and Hazel Lentsch both of Fort Dodge. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Emma (Gembler) Volkmer; husband Donald; son, Gregory Ishmael; brothers, Charles; Vernon; Donald; and Eugene; sisters, Velma Block, Bernice Julch and Grace Kotalik. Lorraine A. Volkmer was born January 15, 1937 near Otho. She was raised and educated in Otho. Lorraine then graduated from ICCC with her Practical Nurse Degree. She then graduated from TCJC in Fortworth, TX, where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse. In 1973, Lorraine moved to Saginaw, TX where she established her home. She worked in the nursing field for over 40 years, until retiring in 2001. She was united in marriage to Donald Yates in 2004. The couple moved and established their home in Fort Dodge in 2005. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
