Lowell J. Swanberg, 85, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society in Manson. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 1st in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Lowell is survived by his wife Doris of Fort Dodge, children Ronald (Sally) Swanberg of Fort Dodge, Lon Swanberg of Otho, Vicky (Greg) Rink of Manson, Sheila (Marvin) Bacon of Otho, daughter-in-law Sandy L. Swanberg of Fort Dodge, 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Vern and Ella (Garton) Swanberg, son John Swanberg, granddaughters Amanda Forbes and Brandi Swanberg, great-granddaughters Blair and Angel, and siblings Lawrence Swanberg and LaVonne Porter, daughter-in-law Sandra R. Swanberg. Lowell John Swanberg was born August 5, 1937, in Spencer, Iowa. He lived in Marathon, Iowa until the 8th grade when the family moved to Fort Dodge. He attended area schools. On August 2, 1954, he was united in marriage to Doris Marsh and the couple established their home. Lowell was truck driver his entire life. He was a member of the Westside Church of Christ and a past member of the Moose Lodge and Excel Camper Club. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
