October 21, 1945 — August 20, 2018

Lucille E. Ramirez, 72 of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in Carpenter Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Lucille is survived by her husband, Blaise Ramirez of Fort Dodge; son, Dennis (Kethya) Ramirez of San Diego, CA; daughter, Shelly Huffman of North Richland Hills, TX; daughter, Elaine Ramirez of Fort Dodge; son, Tim (Deena) Ramirez of Carroll; son, Dan Ramirez of Fort Dodge; 7 grandchildren (Evan, Nicole, Avery, Seth, Mallory, Addison Ramirez, and Megan Brock); 4 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; brothers, Robert Selhaver of Coalville and Russell Selhaver of Fort Dodge; and sisters, Betty Markley of Rolfe and Jean Selhaver of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Edith (Cook) Selhaver; brothers, Richard Selhaver and Curtis Selhaver and sister, Doris Graffunder. Lucille Elaine Selhaver was born October 21, 1945 in Fort Dodge. She attended Fort Dodge Public Schools. On June 30, 1964, she was united in marriage to Blaise Ramirez at Corpus Christi Church. Upon her husband's honorable discharge from the Marines, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Lucille was employed as a cook for Trinity Regional Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed gardening, BINGO, and was an avid baker. She loved her grandchildren and family most of all. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
