Farnhamville- Lulu Belle Taylor, 89, of Jefferson passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at her home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville. Burial will follow in Reading Township Cemetery in Farnhamville. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the church. The funeral service will be live-streamed via the church's Facebook page at Holy Trinity LCMS Men's Ministry Farnhamville. Laufersweiler's Palmer & Sons Funeral Home is serving the family.
Lulu is survived by her husband of more than 60 years Larry Taylor of Jefferson; sons, Clark (Jennifer) Taylor of Lohrville, Trent ( Shelli) Taylor of Le Grand, and Lance (Sheila) Taylor of Norwalk; grandchildren, Daniel (Becky) Taylor, Mason Taylor, and Clayton (Noelle) Taylor, Jordan (Nicole) Taylor, Haylee (Keegan) Wilkening, Morgan Taylor, and Spencer Taylor; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Taylor, Moira and Lewis Taylor, and Leo and Mack Wilkening; brother-in-law, Tom Gillman of Gladwin, MI and brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Virginia Hall of Jefferson; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frieda (Helmkamp) Breidert; siblings, Norbert (Delores) Breidert, Lois (Otto) DeWall, Ethel (Don) Petersen, Dorothy (Ken) Flockhart, Katie Gillman; mother and father-in-law, Walter and Francetta Taylor, and sister-in-law, Vicki West.
Lulu Belle Breidert was born February 19, 1935 in Lidderdale. She attended Lutheran parochial schools and the Iowa Beauty School in Des Moines. Soon after she met a young man while out dancing and on September 22, 1962 she was united in marriage to that young man, Larry Taylor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale. The couple made their home on a farm they rented near Scranton. Lulu was a hairdresser with Maxine Stutzman in Glidden for a number of years. In 1967, they moved to their farm in Lohrville and continued farming until their retirement in 2000. Lulu and Larry spent many years wintering in Texas. They loved playing cards especially pinochle and pitch. She loved to cook and sew, even making her own clothes. She loved to travel with her sister Katie and friend Debbie. She was an avid gardener and canner. She made fantastic bread. Growing up she enjoyed fishing with her dad and later with Larry and her boys. She was at each and every event for them from football to baseball to band and choir. She was a devout Missouri Synod Lutheran and was active in her congregation and even sang in the church choir.
