Lydia Flora Hendrickson

Lydia F. Hendrickson, 89, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Gary Snook officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Lydia is survived by her daughters, Barbara Weimer; Linda Flockhart (Bill); Susan Anderson, all of Fort Dodge; Christine Smith (Frank) of Springfield, OR; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Joslin of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Anna (Piltz) Burkholder; husband, Wayne; son, Wayne Hendrickson Jr.; sisters, Gladys Burkholder; Anna Joslin; Martha Echelberger; brother, Charles Burkholder; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson. Lydia Flora Burkholder was born June 26, 1925 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. In 1941, Lydia was united in marriage to Wayne Hendrickson in Omaha, NE. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Lydia spent her life as a loving homemaker, raising her children and also caring for her grandchildren. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed working in the church nursery where she loved and cherished those she cared for. Lydia was a true servant of the Lord, and God's love shined through her. She passed that onto everyone whose lives she touched. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
