Maleta "Sue" Krebs Thoma age, 72 of Fort Dodge, daughter of Elmer and Isabel Krebs died on Sunday, April 5, 2020 of cancer. A private family mass will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Corpus Christi Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Barnum. A public visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Wearing masks is encouraged as well as practicing social distancing. Sue is survived by her sons Mike (Joy) Thoma of Clare and Mark Thoma of Ankeny. 4 grandchildren Jonathan (Misha) Thoma of Muscatine, Madeleine (Zach) Lind of Fort Dodge, Alaina Thoma and Aidan Thoma of Ankeny, 2 step grandchildren Grant West of Otho and Kelsey West of Storm Lake, 2 great grandchildren Gemma Thoma and Elliot Thoma of Muscatine, brothers Dwight Krebs of Manson, Gary Krebs of Fort Dodge, sister Isabel Presse (Jack) of Lola Montana, step sister Dee (Larry) Snow of Manson, sister in law Dianne Krebs Fort Dodge, step sister in law Jody Simpson of Rockwell City. In laws Connie Thoma of Fort Dodge, Todd (Betty) Thoma of FL, Joe (Mary) Thoma of Riceville, Jean (Jim) Farrell of Omaha NE, Chris (Jacque) Thoma of Fort Dodge, Randy (Melanie) Thoma of Barnum. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents Isabel (Coughlon) Krebs and Elmer Krebs, stepmother Betty (Simpson) Krebs, brothers Dennis and Randy Krebs, infant sister Mary, step brother Robert Simpson and great grandson Parker Thoma, nephews Rick and Shyler Thoma, and brother in law Bill Thoma. Maleta Sue Thoma was born April 9, 1947 at Emmetsburg Iowa. She married John Thoma on April 29, 1967 in Manson and to this union had two sons. She worked as a teacher's associate in special education for 30 years in the Fort Dodge School District. Sue enjoyed spending time with her family especially at Okoboji and with friends. She enjoyed board games, gardening and flowers. She was active in many church groups and enjoyed helping others. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
