Marcia M Sego

Marcia M. Sego, 87, of Fort Dodge went to heaven on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at First Covenant Church with Rev. Allan Redenius officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Marcia is survived by her three children, Virginia (Phil) Haaland of Thor; John H. (Sheryl) Sego of Clarion; Caroline French-Lux of Rembrandt; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ingo (Anderson) Carlson; sister, Karen Dix; brother-in-law, Fred Dix; son-in-law, Jeff Lux; grandson, Bill Gannon; and great-grandson, Lucas Shelton. Marcia M. Carlson was born in Dubuque on August 24, 1927. She grew up and was educated in Laurens. After graduation, Marcia moved to Fort Dodge. She was united in marriage to John A. Sego on November 21, 1947. Marcia worked at Tony's Restaurant and the Royal 400 in Fort Dodge. The couple then moved to Albert City where Marcia worked at Superior Manufacturing. Marcia and John moved to Des Moines after some time and managed the Mir-A-Mar Motel for several years. The couple later divorced. Marcia moved back to Fort Dodge and worked at Trinity Regional Medical Hospital as an Outpatient Admissions in E.R. until her retirement in 1989. She moved to Otho after retiring, and Marcia lived there for 20 years. She moved back to Fort Dodge in 2013. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
