Mardell O. Reed, 96, of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. A visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Mardell is survived by her children, Virginia "Ginny" (John) Jones of Fort Dodge; Marilyn (Merlin) Hoover of Hamilton, OH; Norma (Dick) Craft of Fort Dodge; Michael Reed of Otho; Eilene Schultz of Mason City; Patricia (Ken) Ewing of Fort Dodge; 24 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; sister, Betty Aultman of Humboldt; and sister-in-law, Beverly Musselman of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cesil and Olivine (Sauvgeau) Musselman, Sr.; husband, Pershing Reed; infant daughter, Mary Diane; sons, Walter Reed; John Reed; infant grandson, Michael; brothers, Roland; Raymond; and Cesil Jr.; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Reed. Mardell Olivine Musselman was born March 22, 1920 in Brainerd, MN. She moved to Fort Dodge in 1926 with her family and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1939. Mardell was united in marriage to Pershing Robert Reed on July 3, 1939 in Fort Dodge. She raised her family. Mardell attended Tobin Business College in 1967 and took several business classes at Iowa Central Community College. Mardell has been a Foster Grandparent since 1990; and was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Legion of Mary, and Ladies Guild. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
