Margaret “Peg” Bailey, 92, of Fort Dodge, passed away Thursday June 13, 2024, at the Marian Home
Funeral services will be held on PLEASE NOTE THE DATE - Saturday July 20th at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A Catholic Daughters of America Rosary will be on Friday July 19th at 3:30 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home followed by a visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 at the funeral home.
She was born on June 9, 1932, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The daughter of Leland and Ruth (Lawrence) Mace. Peggy graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1950. She married Donald Gene Bailey in 1951 at Holy Rosary Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa and later they divorced. She worked at Hot Line Inc. / Heart Land Communications for 30 years from which she retired. She was a member of The Foster Grandparents, The Red Hat Society, The Business and Professional Women’s Foundation (BPW), and The Holy Trinity Church Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed spending her spare time attending plays and concerts, dancing, gardening, playing cards, and Mexican Domino's with family and friends. She also was an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan. The most important thing in her life was her love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her children Colleen McFarland of Fort Dodge, la, Evelyn Shockly and husband Jay of Holt Summit, Mo, Douglas Bailey and wife Linda of Gretna, Neb, Mark Bailey. and wife Pam of Grimes, la, James Bailey and wife Fonda of Milford, la, Mary Ann Kimbel of Ashland, Mo, David Bailey and wife Lori of Centertown, Mo,20 grandchildren and 33 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leland and Ruth (Lawrence) Mace and daughter Mary Ruth Bailey, and her son in law Larry Mc Farland.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
