Margaret "Gelene" Semprini

Margaret "Gelene" Semprini, 99, of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Marian Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28th at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Msgr. Kevin McCoy, officiating. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be on Monday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Gelene is survived by her son, Mickey and his wife Karen of Fort Dodge; step sons, Dennis Semprini of Bozeman, MT, Gil Semprini and his wife, Cindy of Des Moines, and Terry Semprini and his wife, Brenda of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Shannan Knutson, Corey Semprini and Dana Semprini; and great-grandchildren, Harper and Carston Semprini. She was preceded in death by her parents, Finis and Clara (Reed) Barnett; husband, James Semprini in 2011; 2 brothers, Freeman and Paul and her sister, Cleo. Gelene Barnett was born July 8, 1919 in Greenfield, MO. She graduated from Callender High School in 1936. She married Ralph Fay in 1938 and the couple later divorced. In 1971, she was united in marriage to Jim Semprini and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. She was employed with the Fort Dodge Labs and was a secretary at Coats Company and Dekalb Ag. Genetics from where she retired in 1979. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Italian Mutual Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Unity Point Hospice of Fort Dodge.
