Rockwell City Margaret L. Feld 98, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Rockwell City, with Father Lynn Bruch officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial of casket will be at St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Rockwell City, with a Parish Rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a Vigil for the deceased at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Margaret is survived by her children, Ann Zierke of Cedar Falls, John (Sue) Feld of Swea City, Paul (Sandi) Feld of Rockwell City, James (Pam) Feld of Lake City, Joan (Warren) Owens of Hurst, TX, Jane (Joe) LeValley of Waukee, Lori Bonnstetter of Omaha, and Joseph (Barb) Feld of Robins; 37 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest; daughters, Mary Ellen Feld and Mary Laughlin; sons, Louis and Thomas Feld; grandchildren, Kristi Zierke Bristow, Allen Feld, Michelle Zierke Hutchcroft, and Doug Laughlin; great-granddaughter Avery Feld; sons-in-law, Earnie Zierke and Ed Laughlin; her parents, Lawrence C. Taylor and Pearl (Miller) Taylor Hall; brothers, Joseph and Charles Taylor; and sisters, Gladys Rafferty, Dorothy Hildreth, Carrie Owen, and Helen Hanson. Margaret Lorraine Taylor Feld was born June 2, 1921 on a farm near Pomeroy, Iowa. She graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1940. On July 28, 1942 she was united in marriage to Ernest J. Feld at Maryville, Missouri, and they raised 11 children. The couple farmed east of Rockwell City for many years. Margaret worked as the head cook at the Rockwell City/Lytton School System until her retirement. Ernie passed away in 1978. Margaret was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Altar Society, VFW Auxiliary, Garden Club, Business and Professional Women Club, and many social and card clubs.
