Rockwell City Marilla I. Brownlee 94, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her home in Rockwell City. Graveside Services for Marilla and her husband Donald will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City, with Pastor Chadric Dietrich officiating. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family. Marilla is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Gary) Dudley of Twin Lakes, and Angie (Gus) Crowder of Guthrie Center; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ethel (Allard) Fisher; sister Evelyn Nordin; and brothers, Ralph Jr. and Robert Fisher. Marilla Irene Fisher was born May 7, 1927 at Rockwell City, Iowa. She graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1944. Following her education she worked at a window factory in Chicago. She returned to Rockwell City and worked for Westermans Lumber Co. On May 6, 1956, he was united in marriage to Donald Brownlee at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pomeroy. The couple made their home in Rockwell City. Marilla had worked for GTE and was a bookkeeper for Golden Buckle Lumber until her retirement. Her husband Donald passed away January 21, 2022. Marilla was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, and VFW Auxiliary. Marilla is also survived by her loving care family. They gave her and Donald the best care that anyone could ever ask for. They are Allie, Anita, Becky, Crissy, Glenny, Klay, and the entire staff of Kindred Hospice. We are forever grateful to you and can never thank you enough.
