Marion E. Fowler, 87, of Clare passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 A.M. Monday, May 6, 2013 in the chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 A.M. at St. Matthews Church, Clare with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery. A visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home, with a C.D.A Rosary at 4:30 P.M. and a vigil at 6:00 P.M. Marion is survived by her daughters, Louise (Bob) Stanberg of Fort Dodge; Ann (Gaylan) Johnston of Salix, IA; Mary (Eddie) Dorsett of Panora, IA; sons, William (Maureen) Fowler of Lincoln, NE; John (Caroline) Fowler of Bremen, IN; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren and a brother, William Foster of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence (Lingard) Foster and her husband, Clement. Marion E. Foster was born on December 7, 1925 in Otho. She was raised and educated in Otho, graduating from Otho High School. Marion continued her education at St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing and graduated from the Fort Dodge Unit. Marion then worked at the Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge for five years. In 1950, she was united in marriage to Clement Fowler. The couple then established their home in Barnum. In 1956, they moved to a farm in the Clare area. From 1968 until retiring in 1986, Marion worked at Manson's Good Samaritan Nursing Home as a nurse. Marion is a member of St. Matthews Church in Clare, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Marian Home Auxiliary.
