Marjorie M. Danner, 77, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice Home, Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Merle Hay Cemetery, Glidden. A visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Kevin) Swanson and their kids, Andrew, Adam, Addie and Adrian, of Bettendorf; son, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Danner and their kids, Olivia and Lucas, of Ankeny; and sister, Dorothy Erpelding of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald in 2005; parents, Herman and Helen (Smith) Hunt. Marjorie Maxine Hunt was born on April 23, 1938 in Carroll. She was raised and educated in the Glidden and Auburn area. Marge graduated from Auburn High School in 1956 and then attended Commercial Extension in Omaha, NE. She was employed with the Commercial Savings Bank in Carroll. Marjorie was united in marriage to Ronald Danner on August 30, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn. The couple moved and established their home at Fort Dodge in 1960. Marge worked at Union Trust which later became Bank of America for 36 years until retiring in 1996. She then worked part-time for the City of Fort Dodge Clerk's office for five years. Marge was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3369. She was also a long-term member of L.W.M.L. and was a money counter for many years. Marge was active in the church and enjoyed gardening. She was a devoted grandmother and treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Marge would always travel to attend their sporting events throughout the years to support them and cheer them on proudly. Memorials may be left to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge, Hospice of Iowa.
