Marlene D. Wood

Marlene D. Wood, 79, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Unity Point Hospice. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5th at Laufersweiler Funeral Home with Rev. J.K. Raether officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Survived by her husband of 61 years Marion of Fort Dodge, daughters Marsha Wood of Fort Dodge, Margo Shirbroun and her husband Darrell of Callender, grandchildren Courtney, Jess, and Caleb, sister Mary Yeager of Ohio. She was preceded by her parents Louis and Esther (Degner) Fisher, brother Charles Degner, sisters Peggy Wood, Bonnie Crouse, and Luella Fisher. Marlene D. Fisher was born on October 16, 1942 in Fort Dodge where she was raised and educated. On October 21, 1960 she was united in marriage to Marion Wood at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Marlene was homemaker and worked at Globe Union for 13 years. She enjoyed family trips especially to Branson, loved being outdoors and car rides. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
