Marlene J. Steck, 87, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 10, 2021 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jena Finch-Manchester officiating. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday at the church. Marlene is survived by her husband of 63 years, Daryle Steck of Fort Dodge; children, Rodney Cartee of Anniston, AL, Deb (Jim) Gilbert of Fort Dodge, Matt Steck of IA City, and Mark (Valerie) Steck of Harcourt; grandchildren, Crystal, Lance, Sheryl, Dustin, Joseph, Timothy, Shawn, Andrew, Alan "AJ", Amanda, Aaron, and Heather; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Jack, Gary, John, and David Eastwood and sister, Nancy Quam. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary (Waggoner) Eastwood; son, Michael Steck; grandchildren, Heather Cartee Glad and Brett Steck; daughter-in-law, Dana Cartee; Donna and Jim. Marlene Joyce Eastwood was born September 21, 1933 in Fort Dodge. She attended area schools and received her GED. On March 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to Daryle Steck in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Marlene was an avid cook and baker. She decorated cakes at Randalls and also HyVee. She also worked for Globe Union. She loved to quilt and sew. She could be found doing puzzles or playing 31. She listened to old country music and enjoyed her flower garden. Marlene loved her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
