Marlene V. Springer, 85, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. WEDNESDAY January 4, 2023 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Survivors include her sons Mike (Connie) Springer of Fort Dodge, Scott (Lisa) Springer of Fort Dodge, James Springer of Phoenix, AZ, Brian Springer of Fort Dodge, daughter Sheri Morgan of Carlisle, IA, daughter-in-law Juli Springer, companion and friend Ed Malek of Waterloo, IA, 13 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Matt Springer, son Steve Springer, parents Elvin and Arbie (Sandy) Hanson, and her sister Connie Anderson. Marlene V. Hanson was born on March 1, 1937, in Rolfe, IA. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School. She married Matt Springer in 1955 in Trenton, MO. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Marlene provided in home daycare for several years. She enjoyed spending her winters in Texas for a number of years. She loved spending time with her family and caring for her dogs. Marlene loved music and in her retirement she enjoyed leading singing at many care centers. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
