Marlys A. (Krebs) Walker, 82, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be held on TODAY from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. all at the funeral home. Survivors include her son, Stephen Lawler and his wife Jill of Fort Dodge; daughter, Mary Beth Bothe of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Tammi Lawler, Amy Johnson, Andrea Bohnenkamp, Lori Lawler, Lindy Smith, and Amanda Connell, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" and Mary (Byrne) Krebs; granddaughter, Bridgett Bothe; brother, Don Krebs; sisters, Rita McMahon and Mary Jo Fitzgerald. Marlys Ann Krebs was born on November 1, 1930 in Manson, Iowa. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1948. On July 25, 1949 Marlys was united in marriage to Robert Lawler. The couple later divorced. Marlys worked at Fort Dodge Animal Health (now B.I.V.I.) for 20 years until retiring in 1995. She served as chairperson of the Fort Dodge Laboratory Retiree's for a number of years. Marlys was a member of Holy Trinity Parish. Memorial may be left to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home or to the discretion of the family.
