Farnhamville- Marvin P. Coon, 85, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, Lake City. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Farnhamville with Pastor J. K. Raether officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Lohrville. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, October 5, 2018 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Farnhamville. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is in charge of arrangements. Marvin Paul Coon, son of Lloyd and Bertha (Fagan) Coon, was born January 6, 1933 at home, near Lohrville. He attended country school near Lohrville and graduated from Lohrville High School with the class of 1950. He was united in marriage with Ida Ressler on February 14, 1954 at her parents home in Somers. Ida passed away in 1995 after 41 years of marriage. In 1997, he married Jana Sanders of Fonda and she passed away in 2016 after 19 years of marriage. He farmed in the Lohrville area his entire life, retiring at the age of 72. Throughout the years, he enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Mesa, Arizona and restoring Oliver tractors. Marvin is survived by his sons, Paul Coon of Farnhamville, Roger (Linda S.) Coon of Lohrville; daughter, Karen (Michael) Tasler of Churdan; 7 grandchildren, Laura Coon, Jennifer Coon, Randi (Nathan) Pederson, Clayton (Nicole) Jacob, Samantha (Dustin) Sperling, Mariah Tasler, Maria Tasler; great-grandchildren, Shaun Swenson, Cody Swenson, Mackenzie Pederson, Maxwell Pederson, Dalton Jacob, and Cheyenne Jacob; step-sons, Lars (Liz) Hersom of Laurens, Clayton (John Garlick) Hersom of Palm Springs, CA; step-grandsons, Mark Hersom, John (Michelle) Hersom, Luke Hersom, Seth Hersom; great step-grandson, Oliver Hersom; two half-brothers; and a very dear friend, Audrey Vinke of Mesa, AZ. Preceding him in death were his parents; step-mother, Luella Seil; wife, Ida; infant son, Craig; infant daughter, Nancy; second wife, Jana; and sister, Joyce (Oscar) Nahnsen. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
