Jolley Marvis D. Cole 81, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge, following a 12-year battle with Alzheimers. A Private Family Graveside Service was held Saturday, April 18, at Crown Hill Cemetery, near Jolley, with Rev. Adam Costilla officiating. Due to the current restrictions placed on the number of participants during the Covid-19 pandemic, which is 10 people, Chuck made the decision that only people who visited Marvis on a regular basis was in attendance. If you did not fit into this category, we are sorry. Please do not phone or text either Chuck or Lee to complain as they will not be acknowledged. Marvis is survived by her husband of 60 years Charles "Chuck" Cole; daughter Leonissa (Eugene) Cole-Williams of Jolley; 9 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; one sister; one brother; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lieselotte (Heinze) Schertz; and grandson Adam Williams. Marvis Dorine Schertz was born November 6, 1938 at Detroit, Michigan. On May 29, 1959 she was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Cole. The couple lived in various locations for 20 years while Chuck served in the United States Navy. In 1977, they established their home in Manson. In 1987, they made their home near Jolley. Marvis enjoyed sewing, guilting, and making crafts. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City, is serving the family.
