Mary Ann Schreier, 89, of Manson, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House.

Mary Ann is survived by her children; Noreen (Brad) Baker, Jan Schreier, Jone Schreier, Colleen Schreier, Thomas (Jen) Schreier, Paul Schreier and Bob (Michael) Schreier; 1 grandchild, Rachel (Orlandi); 2 great-grandchildren, Micah and Athena.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and parents, Ernest and Julia (Slattery) Baker.

Mary Ann Baker was born on November 23, 1935, in Pomeroy. She attended school there and graduated from Pomeroy High School. After graduation, she attended Briar Cliff College. On January 7, 1960, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Norman Schreier at St. Mary's in Pomeroy. Together they farmed for 41 years in Manson, until 2001 when they moved into Manson. She was an extremely loving and loyal wife.

Mary Ann was a very prayerful person, devoted to our Blessed Mother and the rosary. She said the rosary daily her entire life! Growing up Mary Ann was very active in 4-H and showing Hereford cows where she won many ribbons, including the grand prize. She was also very devoted to her family and her friends. She loved bookkeeping and kept the farm and household well organized until the very end. She loved family history and dedicated almost 50 years to updating our family history. She loved (printed) pictures and had countless photo albums of our family. She loved to do all kinds of needlework and made countless gifts for her family and friends. She took great pride in her handwriting as well as everything she did. Her handwriting was an art form. So many people commented on how beautiful it was. Her kids always wondered where we got our creativity and art talent and now I think we all know. She was an exceptional thinker. She was an absolute perfectionist.

In her later years, she was a regular patron of the Manson Library reading thousands of their books. She also spent many hours putting together hundreds of jigsaw puzzles. But still in the end her family and friends were the most important to her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Ft. Dodge. They were such caring angels to Mom.
