Mary B. Lohman, 73, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Lyle Hansen officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Mary is survived by her husband, Rev. John R. Lohman; sons, Rev. Richard Scott Lohman (Gina) of Minooka, IL; David C. Lohman of Seattle, WA; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Mary (Tawney) Hainline and brother, Herb Hainline Jr. Mary Bess Hainline Lohman was born March 16, 1941 in Paola, Kansas. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Pittsburg, KS. She received her Bachelor of Education Degree from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. On August 31, 1963 she was united in marriage to John R. Lohman at Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsburg, KS. Mary worked as a church secretary and as a secretary to several businesses. She also worked as an Army Civilian for the United States Army, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. The couple lived in Rockwell City for six years before retiring and moving to Fort Dodge in 2003. She was active member of Good Shepherd Church, L.W.M.L, Lamp Lighters, and was a highly devoted Christian lady.
